This past year has been full of bumps and fear. I never imagined my life would take such a turn—2024 has been nothing like I expected.
In December 2023, I went to the Philippines for a quick getaway, needing to be with my parents due to the bad news I received. My husband couldn’t join me because he hadn’t planned his leave from work, so it was just Poops and me, braving the December airport crowds together.
We weren’t able to visit the folks this December because of a major transition at work. I was hoping for July, but I guess we’ll have to defer it until the next Christmas holidays. It might be for the best.
I barely have time to visit the salon or do grocery shopping at an actual supermarket because my schedule’s become pretty consuming. I’m somehow thankful this is happening while my son is old enough to understand. He’s been such a big help and knows that these challenges are just side quests. He understands that even when things are tough, God provides what we need, so we don’t have to worry.
I spent my 43rd birthday with my family at a Harry Potter event in Riyadh. It might not be as fancy as the one in LA, but since it’s something new in KSA, why not, right? The highlight for me was definitely Honeydukes—those candies are the best! They’re pretty pricey, but it’s not every day we get to indulge, so why not?! The Butterbeer was just like the one at Universal Studios, and we were thrilled to relive that experience.

Thank you, Lord, for giving me the gift of life. Though it’s been challenging, I’m grateful for every moment I have.
