Baby, It’s Cold Outside

Winter has come to Saudi Arabia!

And I’m excited because my parents are visiting, they arrive in Riyadh tomorrow night! While we’re sad that Faye couldn’t come (since they have pets at home), we’re still grateful that God has given us this chance to have them here for three months. If all goes well, she might be able to visit in March. Who knows?

We are Filipinos through and through, but we’ve spent most of our lives in Riyadh. I know this season may soon change because of recent events, but I trust my Creator’s plans. He does great things and makes everything beautiful in His time.

Christmas is coming! Here in Saudi Arabia, the celebrations aren’t quite the same as in the Philippines, or anywhere else—but compared to the old days, the Kingdom has embraced the secular side of the holidays. It’s amazing to witness, especially through the eyes of someone like my father, who has seen how much this place has evolved.

I’m feeling unwell today, possibly the flu. I was prescribed antibiotics and cough syrup. Hopefully I’ll manage fine until tomorrow.

I hope I don’t get sent home (just like in school), it will totally sabotage my plans to take an annual leave.
