Daily writing prompt
What is the best purchase you have ever made?

There are so many big purchases in my life that, while big and necessary, didn’t really make me happy, for reasons too cringey to write, and ones people who know me might take offense to if they read them. So I’m going to steer away from that main topic and answer it as a side note instead.

Yes, I’m going to turn this into a sub-topic instead:

What’s the best purchase you’ve ever made among the things you really like – not really a necessity, just something you love?

Material things I love: shoes and purses.

In 2009, I was 27, I made my first luxury purchase (luxury for me, anyway), a Louis Vuitton Monogram Speedy 25 that I still use to this day.

At the time, I thought it was too small and worried I wouldn’t like it, especially since I didn’t have much money to spare. But I loved it right away. And over the years, I’ve realized it’s one of the most versatile LV bags out there, the size is perfect, since anything bigger wouldn’t have been nearly as handy. Now that crossbody bags are trending again, I picked up a thick strap so I can wear it Bandoulière-style.

It’s aged into a beautiful golden tan patina by now, and honestly, there’s something satisfying about still having this ridiculously useful LV bag I bought for the first time.

it’s a beautiful bag and they are so well made. i bought one for my mother around the same time and it has become more dignified and refined looking as it has aged. your bag would be a great gift to your daughter when you pass it down! Mike
